Description: This is the FIRST class in a series of three workshops. In this 2-day class you will create an art quilt top with the use of fabrics as an expressive medium. You will have a choice of three designs: a Black Swan, the beautiful Hot Poppy or the award-winning Desert Landscape. The Black Swan will introduce the “free edge” technique. The Hot Poppy will entice you with its yummy colors ... it is done using the “raw edge” appliqué technique, and uses yarn or beading decoration to enhance the beautiful flower. The Desert Landscape quilt will introduce the raw edge and turned edge techniques, stuffed work, 3-D appliqué, chenille, and embellishment with yarn and beads, that will make your quilt an outstanding art piece. The instructor will provide the pattern and stabilizer. Kit fee to teacher: $10.00, which includes pattern, vinyl and stabilizer, needed for the process.

Class Class Duration: Two sessions of 6 hours each.

Pre-requisites: Confident beginner.
