Connecting People with the Joy of Quilting
|
Hi <%[First]%> <%[Last]%>,
Hello, my Quilters in Paradise!
I'm soooo excited by all the news I want to share with you this time!
My husband, Mark - aka "Mr. Sue" as he is affectionately known - is now spending more time at the shop
as he now works his "regular" high-tech job on a part-time basis.
Contrary to previous emails where he announced that he was going on "sabbatical" from building more fabric shelves,
he's already back at work on them and just finished our awesome new panel display.
Get ready 'cause the
10th Annual Southern California Quilter's Run
is coming up in only a few weeks.
Held over 2 4-day weekends,
July 10 - July 13 and July 17 - July 20,
there are about 40 participating shops with lots to see and prizes to win!!
Each shop will have a free charm and free portion of a pattern to give out
and for each shop you visit, you'll be eligible for a drawing for a valuable prize.
Our prize is a "two-fer": a Janome Jem Gold 2 sewing machine and a Digital Simplicity® Quik Press
both courtesy of
sewingmachinesplus.com.
And, to top it off,
Girl Scouts from troop 8236 will be on hand from 11 - 5 each day of the run
offering hot dogs, cookies and refreshments!!
Our web site continues to grow and I'm pleased to inform you of a few key updates we just made.
First, let me ask: "Got dull scissors?"
If so, drop them off next time you come to the shop and put our
scissor sharpening service
to work for you!
Next, we've had some requests to make the newsletters we send out via email available on our web site.
No problem! You'll find all the
newsletters
we've sent in 2008 and we'll keep them there for you to browse any time you like.
Finally, we're always looking for ways to improve our service to you,
and we'd like to hear any thoughts, ideas and feedback you have for us!
We have a simple
online feedback
form you can use ...
Feedback is completely anonymous and you can provide it any time.
In my last newsletter, we announced an inexpensive pattern for making your own shopping bag out of fat quarters called
My Shopping Bag,
all part of an effort to reduce plastic bag consumption and litter.
We're extremely pleased at how much interest there's been so far in the pattern and
we thought you might be interested in a short
article
published this past Monday in the North County Times about this "plastic pollution" issue.
Our
class schedule
has been updated through August.
And, in addition to our ongoing classes, we have:
