Hello, my Quilters in Paradise!

I know it's only been a week since my last newsletter, but with the 4th of July coming up this Friday and the Southern California quilt run starting next week, I wanted to drop a few quick reminders.

We will be closed on the 4th of July and wish all of you a happy and safe holiday!

The 10th Annual Southern California Quilter's Run starts next week and will be going on over two 4-day weekends, July 10 - July 13 and July 17 - July 20 with all participating shops open with extended hours. I know we're all concerned about the price of gas, but I encourage you to drop in as many shops as you can. Car pooling with friends will make the visits extra fun - and, if you are in a carpool of 6 or more people, you'll get a special free gift from us! And, don't forget ... for each shop you visit, you'll be eligible for a drawing for a valuable prize from that shop. Our prize is a Janome Jem Gold 2 sewing machine and a Digital Simplicity® Quik Press both courtesy of sewingmachinesplus.com.

Next, I wanted to let you know that there is still room in the Introduction to Machine Quilting class taught by nationally known teacher Paula Reid. She has appeared on numerous TV programs most recently on Simply Quilts with Alex Anderson. She'll provide invaluable tips, techniques and secrets to help make your machine quilting more productive and fun!

Finally, just in ... a couple of new "gotta have gadgets"! First is the Gypsy Gripper that makes holding your rulers easy and safe when cutting fabric. Second, many of you have taken advantage of the Bendable Bright Light that greatly improves your ability to see your machine sewing and detailed work. But what happens when you want to use the light on another machine? No problem! Just get the inexpensive Bendable Bright Light Mounting Kit and you can easily move the light between machines!
