Hello, my Quilters in Paradise!

I wanted to start this newsletter off with a BIG thanks to all of you who contributed fabric in our recent Cash for Stash event! The event exceeded all our expectations with just over 1,250 pounds of fabric contributed! We've given all the fabric to a half-dozen very thankful organizations who are already fast at work making quilts for a variety of worthy causes.

With the holidays approaching (only seventy-some shopping days left!), we're coming up with more stocking stuffer and gift items. To whet your appetite, Hoffman Fabrics has introduced Bali Pops ... 40 scrumptious Batik 2¹/2 inch strips packaged in 5 mouthwatering sets: Butterscotch, Kiwiberry, Mint Chip, Sherbet and Strawberry Fields. Next, we know that rotary cutters and replacement blades can cost a "pretty penny" - and then some. Good news! We've found a really great, lightweight rotary cutter and replacement blade that fits any budget. Plus, the replacement blades can also be used in your Olfa rotary cutters! And last, some would say "A pin cushion is a pin cushion is a pin cushion." Let me conclude with a couple quick reminders ... Our calendar has been updated through November. There are a number of special holiday-themed classes where you can partake in the holiday fun and spirit and create a beautiful project! (Remember ... you get 15% off all non-sale merchandise on the day of your class!) Of note, due to popular demand, we added another session of the Quilt as You Go Table Runner class on Saturday, November 22nd. To round things out, there are two local quilt shows coming up, so get out, have some fun and see what's going on! First, on Saturday, October 18th, North County Quilter's Association is holding their 23rd Quilt Show/Auction at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido. And, that same weekend on October 17th and 18th is the Ramona Back County Quilters Ninth Annual Quilt Show from 10 – 4 at the Mountain View Community Church in Ramona.

Oh yeah, I should mention that we continue to get new and gorgeous fabric in nearly every day! My husband, Mark, added yet another fabric shelf unit last week (but shhhhhhh ... I've got more fabric on the way and need to gently break the news to him that he may need to build another unit or two).
