Hello, my Quilters in Paradise!

I hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving and are looking forward to the holidays coming up! I wanted to start out by sharing with you some exciting news ... we're expanding! The tenant in the suite next to ours is leaving and we start moving in on January 1st. It's a bit scary, but after some restless days and sleepless nights, Mark and I decided that this is an opportunity we couldn't afford to miss.

So, what are we going to do with the 4100 additional square feet, you ask? For starters, our existing large classroom will be relocated to the new suite offering more space and privacy. The existing large classroom will then be used for additional retail merchandise. (Stay tuned ... we have plans for some totally cool and new product lines in early 2009!) The existing small classroom will be enlarged to allow more students and "elbow room". Because our Internet business is slowly but surely picking up and we're doing more and more with our laser cutter, some of the space in the new suite will be devoted to shipping, receiving and production. And, in the future, we have the ability to add another large classroom. (And, yes, Mark is already lamenting the fact that the new space won't be used, in part, for a sports bar for the guys and that, instead, he gets to build more fabric shelves and display units. He keeps telling me - in jest, of course - that "Your dreams are my nightmares"!)

January is chock full of new classes to start the New Year off right! Pat Wetzel is starting a new Block of the Month, Lyn Mann is teaching Lyn's Chain Gang, and special guest Vic Dadika from Northcott Fabrics will be presenting Fabric Buyer for a Day. In addition, new classes we've added include: Appliqué Club, Baltimore Elegance & Ongoing Appliqué, Gourmet Pineapples, Ask the Teacher: Open Workshops with Wendy, and Machine Appliqué Jubilee.
