Hello, my Quilters in Paradise!

I have to start this newsletter by letting you know that I became a grandma again with the birth of our second granddaughter! I was there when my oldest, Karen, gave birth to a 7 pound, 4 ounce, beautiful little girl on February 11th. Her name is Delaney Marie ... Mark simply calls her "Del Mar" for short and, of course, is taking all the credit for her good looks. (He's also feeling pretty good about the fact that he actually has more hair than at least one other younger family member!) We're thrilled to have such joy in our family (and, of course, not having to do diapers!)!

But, back to quilting ... I am really looking forward to the San Diego Cruisin' Quilters Quilt Run that is starting only a week from this Saturday! All of us at Quilter's Paradise look forward to seeing the quilt run veterans again and welcoming all the first-timers! There are 15 participating shops this year and you'll have 8 days, from March 7th through March 14th, to visit them with all shops having extended hours (Mon-Sat 9 am - 7 pm and Sun 10 am - 4 pm).

Although the holiday season has now faded from view some, we aim to bring that holiday spirit back "front and center" as we've been preparing special treats for you. All passport holders will receive a free gift and when it comes to fabric, our motto once again is: "The more you buy the more you save!" For non-sale fabric, when you purchase for a single item:

1 - 1 7/8 yards ...	you save 10%!
2 - 2 7/8 yards ...	you save 20%!
3+ yards ...	you save 30%!

There'll be other treasures and delights (this is Paradise after all!), not to mention the prizes that we and the other quilt shops are offering, but you'll have to come in to discover them!

As I mentioned in my last newsletter, I'm very excited that internationally known quilt author, designer and instructor Jan Krentz is releasing a new book, Quick Star Quilts & Beyond! And, she is coming to Quilter's Paradise on Sunday, March 8th from 1 - 4 for a book signing party where you'll have a memorable opportunity to meet Jan, have her autograph your book (available at the shop), and see examples of the quilts featured in her book! If you can't make it to the shop that day, you may order an autographed book by calling the shop at 760-738-9677 up until March 7th. To top it off, Jan has agreed to conduct a one-day workshop from her book, called Quick Harbor Lights that she is offering on Friday, March 27th and Sunday, March 29th.

Hard to believe another month has almost gone by, but the good news is that that means our class schedule has now been updated through April. For a complete list, check our calendar and class list. Here's a list of the ones we've just added this week ...
