Hello, my Quilters in Paradise!

So much is going on over these next few weeks! First, our bi-annual Cash for Stash event is in full-swing - and, boy, is it ever! People have been so generous ... as of Thursday, we've already received well over 1,200 pounds of fabric donations!! We'll keep taking donations through Saturday, April 25th so there's still time to do a little "spring cleaning" and help us out. You get one Quilter's Paradise dollar for every pound of fabric scraps up to 30 pounds. You may then spend your Quilter's Paradise dollars for any merchandise in the shop. We will donate the fabric scraps to several local organizations who make charity quilts. (Please note that we ask that donated scraps be approximately fat quarter size or larger.)

Next, from Saturday, May 2nd through Saturday, May 9th, we are one of eight area quilt shops that are participating in a Row Quilt Run where you get a free pattern! During the run, we'll be offering a couple of specials starting with all jelly rolls being 20% off! And, to help celebrate Cinco de Mayo, all our 5" charm packs will be 20% off as well! (Note: these offers are only good while supplies last so don't wait too long.) Finally, to top it off, we'll be selling an inexpensive, one-of-a-kind souvenier of the run made with our laser cutter.

And, who can forget what day comes right after the quilt run? Mother’s Day, of course ... and it is fast approaching (Sunday, May 10th)! I know it's always a "head scratcher" to come up with something unique instead of, or in addition to, the traditional card-and-flowers gift for that special Mom, grandma, wife, sister, daughter, aunt, niece, friend, etc. To save you some perplexing pondering, we've come up with an Engraved Wood Bag that we engraved using our shop laser! It can be used as a decorative item either resting on a table or hung on a wall, or used to hold small objects, such as buttons, fat quarters, candy ... whatever! Alternatively, an all-purpose gift certificate lets that special someone pick whatever they want! Both are available in our shop or can be ordered online or phoned in and shipped.

We're always looking for ways to better serve you and we recently received an excellent suggestion. Our class list page now includes the name of the teacher for each class ... and you can sort the list of classes by class name or teacher name! So, it's a snap to find another class by your favorite teacher! Speaking of which, Carol Kaplan is back with her ever-popular Everything Bag class in which you make a handy bag that you can use for just about ... everything!

Finally, don't forget Wendy Mathson's Book Signing Party on Saturday, May 9th where she'll be signing her latest book, A New Light on Storm at Sea Quilts. (Hint: a signed book might make a truly wonderful Mother's Day gift!) You can learn to make these beautiful quilts at her Storm at Sea - The Wendy Way class. For inspiration, we have 11 quilts from her book hanging in our shop.
