Connecting People with the Joy of Quilting
|
Hi <%[First]%> <%[Last]%>,
Hello, my Quilters in Paradise!
This newsletter is brought to you by the letter "B"!
First a "Big Thank-you!" to everyone who donated their fabric scraps
as part of our bi-annual Cash for Stash program.
We collected over 1,700 pounds of fabric, all of which has been donated to many area guilds, organizations and groups for a variety of worthy causes!
Don't fret if you missed out making a contribution ...
we'll be having another collection this fall.
Next, we've been delighted to see many of you stopping in this week as part of the
Row Quilt Run.
It continues through Saturday, May 9th
and you get not only a free pattern,
but you can also take advantage of a couple of bargains we're offering during the run (but only while supplies last):
all jelly rolls and 5" charm packs are 20% off!
We'll be capping the Row Quilt Run with a book signing party!
On Saturday, May 9th from 11-3, Wendy Mathson will be
signing
her latest book, A New Light on Storm at Sea Quilts.
You can learn to make these beautiful quilts at her
Storm at Sea - The Wendy Way
class.
They say that "April showers bring May flowers", so what do May flowers bring?
New fabric, of course!
In keeping with the theme of this newsletter,
we've received another 40+ bolts of beautiful Batiks,
and a line of Boy Scouts fabric from Robert Kaufman.
(My husband, Mark, can't accuse me of going on yet another Batik Buying Binge
because this was his idea.
And - would you believe? - featured in the shop with the Boy Scouts fabric is his original Boy Scouts uniform!
Something about a man in uniform ...)
Of the Batiks,
we're featuring the line of gorgeous
Sun Prints
from Batik Textiles.
The beginning of summer means graduations and weddings.
If you're making a quilt for one of these special events,
our
Longarm Quilting Service
turnaround time is only about 2 weeks.
And, based on customer feedback, we just created a binder containing several hundred pictures of our stitching patterns
that you can browse through at the shop!
If you'd like to learn to use the Longarm so you can quilt your own quilts, sign up for
Longarm/Midarm Training Class.
Once you've taken the class,
you can rent our Longarm for only $20/hour!
Our
class schedule
has been updated through June.
Betty Alofs is teaching
Floral Fantasies Hibiscus
where you'll make an absolutely stunning wall hanging.
And, both Wendy Mathson and Karen Cunagin will be teaching
Palomar College Classes
at our shop ... cost is free and you'll have great fun in air-conditioned comfort over the summer.
To conclude, don't forget that this Sunday is Mother's Day ...
it's a good time to let her know that she's the BEST!
And, to whet your appetite,
our next newsletter will come to you from the next letter in the alphabet: "C".
Why "C"?
Because we're getting cartloads of Christmas fabric in!
(For those of you who are wondering, there are only 232 shopping days until Christmas ...)
