Connecting People with the Joy of Quilting
|
Hi <%[First]%> <%[Last]%>,
Hello, my Quilters in Paradise!
It's summer and with the
2009 Southern California Quilt Run
coming up soon on July 9 - 12 and July 16 - 19,
I can already hear the summertime music blaring on the radio!
Here's a favorite that's perfect for the run
adapted from the 1963 hit single "Da Doo Ron Ron" by the Crystals:
We're gettin' together and we're drivin' around
Da Quilt Run Run Run, Da Quilt Run Run
We're hittin' all the shops to see what things can be found
Da Quilt Run Run Run, Da Quilt Run Run
Yes, it's so much fun
Yes, fabric and sun
And when I take it home
Da Quilt Run Run Run, Da Quilt Run Run
So, mark your calendars, call your friends and arrange your car pools 'cause you won't want to miss this!
Many of you attended the "Fabric Buyer for a Day" event we held last January.
During that event,
the attendees played the role of fabric buyer -
let me interject by saying that this is one of my most favorite roles here at the shop!! -
and got to select which fabrics they wanted to see in the shop.
Well, the selected fabric lines are all here,
Gone Fishing, Stonehenge and Sea Etchings,
so come on in and show how smart the attendees were!
And, for something new and really cool,
we received 20 bolts of gorgeous
Batik Bali Rainbow Flannels!
Not only do they look scrumptious,
but the "wrong" side of the fabric isn't white as is typical of flannels.
Instead, you get the beautiful colors of the fabric
making these flannels perfect for any project in which you want frayed fabric -
e.g., rag quilts and scarves.
Last but not least,
I am really excited about this next item ...
something that I've been trying to solve ever since I got my Longarm machine 10 years ago.
One of the most vexing problems Longarmers face is that mounting a quilt on the machine requires pinning.
Velcro® and zipper leader systems do help,
but they still require pinning.
I hate pinning (and most Longarmers I know do, too)
because it's tedious, time-consuming and you get pricked (ouch)!
I'm very pleased to announce that we have a patent-pending system,
called the
LeaderMateTM Quilt Mounting System,
that requires NO pinning and allows you to mount your quilts in half the time!
We've been successfully using the system since late last year in our shop
and received great feedback from a number of "friendly users".
I encourage all you Longarmers and Midarmers out there to take a look at the information on our web site
and feel free to stop by the shop and let us show it to you!
