Connecting People with the Joy of Quilting
|
Hi <%[First]%> <%[Last]%>,
Hello, my Quilters in Paradise!
I want to start this newsletter out
by thanking everyone who brought fabric in for our bi-annual "Cash for Stash" program.
We collected an unbelievable 2,200 pounds of fabric,
all of which has been picked up by about a dozen area guilds, groups and organizations
who make charity quilts.
All of them were absolutely thrilled to receive such large amounts of fabric
and really appreciate your generosity.
Our next planned "Cash for Stash" event will be in April around Earth Day.
For all you cat lovers out there,
the latest laser-cut Garden Patch cat kit is now available:
Eggplant Purr-mesan.
(Isn't he cuuuute?!)
And the fabric keeps coming in!
Of note, we have the entire 40-bolt line of Aster Manor from Moda
including charm packs and jelly rolls.
This is a beautiful, romantic collection reminiscent of textiles from England and France from an earlier era.
The detailed open roses on a vintage mottled background have a soothing elegance.
I've had a number of requests to make laser-cut kits
that can be completed in a single day.
Ask no more!
Starting this month and for the next year,
we'll have table runner / wall hanging kits available that reflect the theme of the following month.
These kits use patterns from the book
Every Month: A Table Runner for Every Month
by Jeri Kelly.
As you might have surmised,
this month features a Christmas theme (see picture below).
Better yet ...
I'll be featuring these kits at each month's
Pizza Night
where, by attending, you can get the kit at 15% off, plus get it done in one evening -
and I'll be there to answer any questions about it.
If you don't want to get the kit and work on it,
no problem ...
come on in and enjoy the cameraderie and pizza along with a night "away from it all" to work on whatever you want.
Our next Pizza Night is November 20th -
a good time to get away and get that Thanksgiving Day or Christmas project done!
Speaking of the holidays,
we're going to try something new.
We have always been open the Saturday and Sunday after Thanksgiving,
but this year we are going to be open on Friday, November 27th from 9 am to 6 pm, the Day After Thanksgiving
(also known as "Black Friday" in the shopping world).
I realize that many of you just can't wait to get up at 2 a.m. to get in line at one of the major retailers
and jockey among the crowds like a Roller Derby player.
And others of you are hyperventilating and tingling with anticipation at the chance
to watch a football or basketball game on TV at home with the spouse, friends and/or relatives.
For those of you who don't fall into either category,
please feel free to come on in.
Our classrooms aren't scheduled, so if you want a peaceful place "away from it all" to work on a project,
let us know - there's no charge to use the rooms.
And, if you want to do some shopping,
all non-sale merchandise will be 25% off
from Friday, November 27th through Sunday, November 29th.
Our annual shop
holiday party
will be held on Saturday, December 5th at 11:30.
We'll be having a pot luck
and you can optionally participate in a fun game.
Plus, you'll be eligible to win a door prize through a few drawings and you'll get 15% off all non-sale items!
I'll conclude this newsletter by noting that our webmaster, Mark,
has updated our web site so that you can enroll in
classes
online!
No sooner had he made the changes
than our first few online enrollments came in.
To enroll online,
you need to go to the web page for the class you want to attend.
You can still enroll in person at the shop or by calling in,
but don't expect enrollment via text messaging or Twitter any time soon!
Oh, and don't forget to take advantage of this month's
coupon!
