Connecting People with the Joy of Quilting

Hi <%[First]%> <%[Last]%>,

Hello, my Quilters in Paradise!

"Ho! Ho! Ho!" ... only a week to go before the big day! If you're feeling rushed with no time to finish making that special gift, come on in tomorrow night (Friday, December 18th) for Pizza Night. Get away from those pesky interruptions to get your project done and enjoy the cameraderie and pizza!

I know that many of you are making plans to take advantage of all those post-Christmas Day sales when all kinds of stuff gets marked down. Be sure to include our shop as you make the rounds 'cause from Saturday, December 26th through Thursday, December 31st, all of our Christmas and holiday fabric, fat quarters and panels will be 40% off (1 yard minimum on fabric)! And, there'll be a few other bargains and surprises, but you'll have to come in to find out what they are.

I mentioned in my last newsletter that we have a lot of new classes coming up in 2010. In addition to our regular ongoing classes:

  • Pat Wetzel is starting a new Block of the Month,
  • Grace Errea is returning with a series of art quilt classes starting with Beginning an Art Quilt Top,
  • Catherine Wilson is kicking off a monthly class called Sampler Magic - A Sampler Quilt,
  • Wendy Mathson is teaching her ever-popular Storm at Sea - The Wendy Way,
  • Lynn Postulka is starting the next round of smocking classes with Beginning Smocking, and Advanced Smocking,
  • Lyn Mann is continuing teaching from her large repertoire with Lasso the Stars, and
  • Mary Lou Rankin is returning with two garment classes, Right Pattern - Wrong Fabric, and Taking the First Step.

Speaking of classes, I regret to inform you that I received word a few days ago from Palomar College that due to budget cuts, 2 of the 3 Palomar College classes that we've been holding at our shop for the last few years have been cancelled. The one class that will remain is Palomar College with Karen Cunnagin on Wednesdays. I am pleased to say, though, that Mark and I are already working with Karen and Wendy Mathson to develop and hold interesting, valuable and affordable classes from these great teachers. Details will be forthcoming in the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned!

From all of us at Quilter's Paradise, we wish you and your family all the best during this holiday season!
