Hello, my Quilters in Paradise!

Seems like only yesterday we were saying goodbye to 2009 and already it's "Goodbye January, Hello February!" And what a "hello" it is with the first quilt run of the year starting this Saturday (2/6). The Row Quilt Run runs from Saturday, Feburary 6th through Sunday, February 14th with each participating shop providing a free pattern for a row in a quilt. Get out and get some fresh air as "Spring Fling" is the theme of this run!

And, you can double your fun this coming Saturday (2/6) by attending our inaugral Finish It Today (FIT) demo from 8:30 - 9:30 and led by Wendy Mathson. The whole idea of the monthly FIT demos and workshops is to get a project done and have fun! Each demo attendee will receive a free acrylic template set related to that month's project - and will get 15% off all non-sale merchandise in the shop for purchases on that day. Plus, they'll get first crack at signing up for the FIT class to be held on February 27th.

Don't forget ... Valentine's Day is coming up soon. While it's customary to exchange cards sometimes with chocolates or flowers, why not consider making something soft and sweet? I'm referring, of course, to some popular laser-cut kit treats that take no time at all to get done! First is the simple, yet elegant, February's Every Month Table Runner kit. I just couldn't resist roosting in Laser Land these past few days hatching laser-cut kits.

Every year, the weather question for March is whether it will enter like a lion or like a lamb. I don't know what will happen, but I do know that when it comes to classes and events, March is already entering like a lion. As a "heads up", the San Diego Quilt Run is coming on March 6 - 13.
