Hello, my Quilters in Paradise!

In some circles I'm known as the "Gadget Queen" and I wanted to start this newsletter off by letting you know about a "gotta have" gadget that I came across. I like to work with my hands when I'm watching TV or listening to music ... and I like to read in bed but don't want to bother "Mr. Sue". Problem is, the lighting is either much too dim or lights up the whole room thereby bothering those around me. But I've found a rather nifty solution, the Mini LED Light. It's extremely light and comfortably fits on your ear shining a bright, focused light wherever you look. Because you wear it, it goes where you go and both your hands are free to do whatever you want. I've been using it now for a few weeks and it's just perfect for doing lap work, reading a book in bed (without disturbing your partner), reading a map in a car at night, or just plain seeing in the dark. Although I just mentioned the "Back to School" season coming upon us, summer still has a ways to go. Being near the ocean invites images of sailing and the sun slowly sinking on the horizon with birds flying freely in the air. Those images are captured on two striking stained glass laser-cut kits: Setting Sail and Soaring Pelican . Our calendar has been updated through September and continues to have many fun and interesting classes to choose from. As a reminder from my last newsletter, we just started an Electric Quilt (EQ) club which meets once/month on the fourth Sunday from 10-11:30. Admission is free and you'll have tons of fun learning EQ in a relaxed and lesson-oriented manner. We do have EQ7 , the latest version which just came out.
