Beware of and Avoid Counterfeit / Knockoff Slit 'N SewTM Templates!


Quilter's Paradise is and has been experiencing issues with foreign counterfeit Slit 'N SewTM (SnS) templates on Amazon - particularly, our best-selling Double Wedding Ring (DWR) template set. The counterfeit templates are typically made overseas from lower quality acrylic - sometimes a lower quality non-acrylic plastic - and have some inaccuracies with respect to shape and engraved markings. Quilting is an exact art form and such inaccuracies lead to frustration, wasted time and effort, and pieces that don't fit properly together. We designed the templates and make all of them ourselves in the USA.

How to Spot a Counterfeit Template

  • The brand and/or manufacturer specified is not Quilter's Paradise.

  • The country of origin is not the United States.

  • Template sets that do NOT have "CutRiteTM Slit 'N Sew" or our web site address engraved on the templates are counterfeit.

  • Read the reviews by people who have purchased the templates.

  • Many do not contain instructions or the anti-slip material that is affixed to the templates. Counterfeit instructions, if provided, are copies of the genuine instructions (which is copyright infringement) but have removed Quilter's Paradise's name, Slit 'N Sew trademark name, CutRite trademark name, and/or mention of the DWR Plus template set.

  • The grammar used in the product descriptions and information tends to be poor.


    • Some counterfeiters use our template images on the web pages only to deliver you a counterfeit template that is different from the image. Please see below under What You Can Do.

    What You Can Do

    We continue to take steps to stop the counterfeiters as it is an ongoing process. Here are some things we suggest that you can do to minimize the chances of purchasing a counterfeit template:


  • Examine the images of the template carefully, what is included with the product, and the grammar used in the product descriptions and information (see above).

  • Watch the very informative video below about spotting counterfeit rulers and templates.

  • If you do receive a counterfeit template, try to return it and write a negative review making it clear what you received was counterfeit. Also, please contact us so that we can take action.

  • Purchase from your local quilt shop or, if you prefer, directly from us on our etsy shop.
