Width of Fabric Yardage Conversion Calculator

The Width of Fabric Yardage Conversion Calculator calculates the amount of yardage of fabric 2 that is equivalent in size to the yardage of fabric 1 when both fabrics have different widths of fabric. The calculator rounds up the calculated yardage for fabric 2 to the nearest 0.1 yard.

Please be careful in using this calculator! Just because the overall sizes of fabric 1 and fabric 2 are the same does NOT mean that they will both work equally well for your intended use. This is because your use may require or assume that some or all of the pieces to be cut from the yardage must be of a minimum size. As an example, if you want to see how much yardage you need for a quilt backing using standard 44" fabric and extra-wide backing fabric (typically, about 108"), you should use the backing calculator - once specifying 44" for the width of fabric and again specifying 108" for the width of fabric.
